Widely used by the soldiers of the German army, he was considered the weapon of last resort fighting in melee, and was looking for an outlet of French soldiers. Latin translation of the word merchant. Marchand is the French translation of his German designer Kaufmann. On knives with the cat we can read K55K. First K for Kaufmann name of its designer, 55 for the address of the factory Hochstrasse street, and finally the last K for katze, translate cat, original emblem of the knife. The cat and the black color of the handle are nicknamed the Black Cat or Cat Jumping by the Americans. The range is broken down into carbon and stainless steel blade, with or without the emblem of the golden cat K55K.
